Thora Clyne
Tora Clyne is best known as a painter-printmaker, and has exhibited widely in solo and group shows across the UK. In 1960, she gained a master’s degree with honours in fine art at Edinburgh College of Art. Her teachers included William Gillies and Derek Clarke. She received Andrew Grant Bequest Post-Graduate Scholarship and Traveller in 1961. After graduation she worked as principal assistant at Aberdeen Art Gallery, and in 1963 she went on to study printmaking at University of Colorado in America. From 1963-1993 Thora Clyne taught part time at her alma mater, Edinburgh College of Art.
