The Danish Potter

1 June 2019 - 27 June 2019

This June, we welcome venerable Danish Potter Lis Ehrenreich to Scotland for her first solo exhibition in the United Kingdom – The Danish Potter. Her career spans several decades and is held in numerous public collections. Lis Ehrenreich studied at the Jutland Academy of Fine Art in Arhus between 1976 and 1981, before establishing her own studio in Arhus in 1981. Her first solo exhibition was in Galleri Gammel Strand in Copenhagen in 1990 and she has since exhibited both nationally and internationally.

This new collection explores various shades of white that occur after firing; defined by the ashes of beech, oak, birch and straw all expressed through various forms of the Albarello jar – the pharmaceutical jar.
